Can you introduce yourself and tell us what you're here to discuss?
Hi, I'm Gary from Lyons Family Dentistry. I'm the patient coordinator there. We do get a lot of questions about financing here at the office, and I'm here to answer some of those questions and maybe calm some of your fears. We understand that dental procedures are very expensive, and patients are concerned about that. Hopefully, we can cover some of that today and help you feel a little calmer. We're going to try and make sure that you understand it and feel good about it.
If I need a dental procedure but don't have the cash to cover it, are financing options available?
We do have patients that come into our office who don't have dental insurance or the cash to cover it upfront. In that situation, we are happy to say that we have financing available, and it's really available for everyone. We have a company called Care Credit and another called Cherry. These companies can offer no interest, for 12 months or 18 months, which is very helpful in today's world.
Will I have to pay for my dental procedures upfront?
When patients come in, they sometimes ask if they have to pay for their procedures upfront. The answer to that is yes. We need to reserve the schedule and make sure that you have an operatory to be in. Also, dental procedures and parts are very expensive, and that's the reason we must collect upfront. The prepayment also establishes a commitment to ensure that the procedure is completed.
Does all dental financing require a credit check?
In today's world, dental financing often involves what's called a soft credit check. This won't appear on your credit report, which is a good thing for patients. They don't have to worry about that anymore.
Does dental insurance typically cover the cost of most dental procedures?
Today, most procedures can be expensive, and there are instances where the insurance won't have enough to pay for the whole procedure. But again, we're happy to say that we have some alternatives, like dental financing and some creative in-house ways to get that done.
How can I find out if my insurance will cover the cost of my dental procedures?
For the cost of your procedures, the insurance company can provide you with a percentage of what it pays. It's very easy; you can just contact your dental insurer, and they will tell you exactly how much that percentage is. We can also assist the patient and contact the insurance company on their behalf. When they come in for the procedure, we already have it all laid out.
My insurance will only partially cover the cost of my dental procedure. Can financing options help me pay the rest?
There are times when the insurance won't pay for the entire procedure. In such cases, we have several finance companies that we can use in-house. The patient can get the service they need without having to worry about how to get the money.
Can Lyons Family Dentistry help me find financing options so that I can get the dental care I need?
At Lyons Family Dentistry, we go out of our way to make sure you can find the right finance company. We have companies like Care Credit and Cherry, which are very popular and offer 12 to 18 months without interest. We also have an in-house discount plan called Lyons Savings Plan. It's a $200 benefit that covers your exam, x-rays, and cleaning, and offers 20% off any future procedures.
How can I get started with dental financing?
To get started with dental financing, it's very easy. Just call us at (640) 400-0113, and I'll answer all those questions for you.
How do the costs at Lyons Family Dentistry compare to other local dentists?
The cost of Lyons Family Dentistry in comparison to other offices is very comparable. We do offer an in-house plan, and we take all the insurances that patients have. We accept cash, checks, and credit cards. So, yeah, we're very comparable.
What dental services have standardized pricing at Lyons Family Dentistry?
Standardized pricing can range from a number of things, from dental cleanings to exams to x-rays, even fillings. Standardized pricing is a commonality in the dental industry.
Why do the costs of some procedures vary?
There is a variance in the costs of procedures because of the complexity of the procedures. A cleaning is far different than, say, an implant, or a crown is far different than an exam. So there will be a difference in cost depending on the procedure.
Can Lyons Family Dentistry help me understand if my insurance is going to cover my costs?
One of the big questions we get is about insurance coverage. We have qualified people who specialize in insurance. They are able to answer all your questions, and we can help you understand your insurance coverage.
My insurance will not cover the cost of my dental care. Are financing options available?
Sometimes insurance doesn't cover all of the procedures, so we offer some in-house financing options. We have ways to ensure that patients can get the services they need without having to worry about the money.
Does Lyons Family Dentistry offer a discount?
At Lyons Family Dentistry, we offer an in-house plan. It provides the patient a way to get the cleanings, exams, and x-rays, and we provide a discount for any procedures that need to be done afterwards. Specifically, our comprehensive plan costs $200. That $200 will cover the exam, cleaning, x-rays, and a 20% discount on any procedures needed going forward.

Insurance
Dental Insurance is different from Medical Insurance. Many patients aren’t familiar with the specifics of their dental insurance benefits. Your dental benefits are based on the agreement your employer negotiated with your insurance carrier. Please review the insurance benefit booklet provided by your employer to better understand the benefits they make available as part of your insurance coverage. The patient payment portion covered for procedures varies depending on the coverage provided by your employer.
We participate in select plans with Cigna, Aetna and Delta Premiere and accept most traditional insurance plans. We recommend that you contact our office to verify we are in-network with your specific insurance plan.
Financial Policy
For your convenience, we accept payments made with cash, checks and most credit cards. We also offer financing through Care Credit, Cherry and Sunbit.
These are available to help you pay for dental procedures your insurance doesn’t cover. CareCredit® offers both No Interest* financing or low minimum monthly payment options so you can take care of your dental health.
Cancellation Policy
Kindly provide at least 24 hours notice for any appointment that needs to be rescheduled. Appointments cancelled in less than 24 hours will incur a $75 cancellation charge.
